April 19, 2008DISASTERPEACE, the new band featuring singer Wade Black (CRIMSON GLORY, SEVEN WITCHES, LEASH LAW, BLACK REIGN, LEATHERWOLF),former KING DIAMOND guitarist master Pete Blakk, and bassist Hal Patino (KING DIAMOND),will headline the first installment of "The Maximum Metal Show" on Friday, May 9 at The State Theatre in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. Also scheduled to appear is AFTER DEATH, which features in its ranks former MORBID ANGEL, NOCTURNUS and ACHERON drummer/vocalist Mike Browning. Rounding out the bill are SHADES OF TWILIGHT, FAST TAKER and SEVEN KINGDOMS.

Black previously stated about DISASTERPEACE: "Pete came out and took the stage with BLACK REIGN on September 29 and before the set was done we both knew that this collaboration could not and would not end with one gig. The only choice we had was to unite our metal visions under one name, and that name is DISASTERPEACE. This band will be everything we've been and everything we've wanted to be as musicians, songwriters, and performers."
Black added, "It's a total thrill to be working with a legendary guitarist like Pete Blakk. Anyone who knows metal knows the awesome work Pete did with KING DIAMOND, but when you hear where he's coming from now, you will be blown away and blown to pieces!"
As to what DISASTERPEACE would sound like, Wade offered: "Brutal. A skull-pounding, head banging assault, but with a twist: we're not turning our backs on melodies or choruses. Melodic aggression at its finest!"
